Astrocyte-to-neuron conversion for Parkinson's disease treatment
Astrocyte-to-neuron conversion for Parkinson's disease treatment
|
Qian et al. reported that inhibition of RNA-binding protein PTB results to conversion midbrain astrocytes to dopaminergic neurons which provide axons to reconstruct the nigrostriatal circuit. Moreover, re-innervation of striatum is accompanied by restoration of dopamine levels and rescue of motor deficits in PD mice model. Their findings identify a potential approach for PD treatment. arigo provides excellent antibodies and ELISA kits to facilitate PD research. |
