Mutations in this gene are associated with achondrogenesis, chondrodysplasia, early onset familial osteoarthritis, SED congenita, Langer-Saldino achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia, Stickler syndrome type I, and spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia Strudwick type. In addition, defects in processing chondrocalcin, a calcium binding protein that is the C-propeptide of this collagen molecule, are also associated with chondrodysplasia. Immunofluorescence: Porcine primary chondrocytes fixed with 4% Paraformaldehyde for 10 min at RT and blocked by 1% BSA, 0.1% Triton for 30 min at RT. Cells were incubated in 5% BSA and stained with ARG20787 anti-Collagen II antibody (pre-adsorbed) at 1:100 for 3 hours at RT.
