背景介绍	This gene is a member of the natriuretic peptide family and encodes a secreted protein which functions as a cardiac hormone. The protein undergoes two cleavage events, one within the cell and a second after secretion into the blood. The protein's biological actions include natriuresis, diuresis, vasorelaxation, inhibition of renin and aldosterone secretion, and a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis. A high concentration of this protein in the bloodstream is indicative of heart failure. The protein also acts as an antimicrobial peptide with antibacterial and antifungal activity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with postmenopausal osteoporosis. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

FLISA: Biotinylated ARG10146 anti-BNP antibody [50E1] used as capture antibody and Eu3+ - labeled ARG10609 anti-BNP antibody [24C5] used as detection antibody. Mixture of antibodies (50 µl) and synthetic BNP (50 µl) is incubated for 30 min at RT in streptavidincoated plate.

Stability studies: Recombinant glycosylated proBNP (from mammalian cell line) (green) and endogenous proBNP, purified from pooled HF patients plasma (red) were reconstituted in pooled normal human EDTA-plasma and incubated at RT for different time periods.
Immunological activity was measured by immunoassay, utilizing ARG10146 anti-BNP antibody [50E1] as capture and ARG10609 anti-BNP antibody [24C5] as detection.
